Giant Cephalosian

cephilosian

The cephalosian was an invertebrate that once inhabited the deep abyssals of the Tethiyan Ocean on Hypsos. Adults usually weighed around 45 kg, with an arm span up to 12.7 m. Some of the largest specimens were reputed to weigh as much at 200 kg and have a radial span of 24 m. It was reputed to demonstrate high intelligence and emotional response.

Cephalosians were used in very early, but unsuccessful, jumpgate tests by Hyperial scientist Dr. Nemmo Chandra.

The last recorded capture of a wild cephalosian was in 19 AT. It is now believed to be extinct in the wild.  A cloned specimen can be seen on Hyperial Station.
